SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS Glasser Spinal Fellowship. Study in Germany under Zielke, MD for spinal surgery specifically for treatment of scoliosis with use of Zielke device. Included topic interest in use of pedicular screws for immobilization of the spine and Zielke technique used in ankylosis and spondylitic. Attended in the fall of 1985 for a 10 day meeting.
Surgery of the Spine – Swiss course study in Davos, Switzerland.  Primary topic Disciplinary Surgery of the Spine focused on use of pedicle fixation as internal fixation of the spine. Attended 12/1985.
The Use of Interpedicular Fixation for Surgery of the Spine – Advanced course study under French Professor Roy Camille and his assistant instructors in Toledo, Ohio.  Study included lectures/hands on laboratory instruction in the use of pedicular fixation throughout the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine as well as internal fixation of fractures, degenerative diseases and spinal deformities. Attended one week.
Advanced Course on Internal Fixation of the Spine under Arthur Steffee, MD in Cleveland, Ohio. Primary focus as use of Steffee System of internal fixation of the spine for interpedicular fixation.  Attended one week 5/1986.
Minnesota Scoliosis Institute Meeting under David Bradford, MD and Robert Winter, MD (co-chairman).  Study included treatment for spinal deformities and spinal fractures. Attended one week in 7/1986
Scoliosis Research Society Meeting in Bermuda 9/1986.
Challenge of the Lumbar Spine held in San Francisco, California. Included all aspects of surgery of the lumbar spine.  Attended one week in 11/1986
Cervical Research Society Meeting 12/1986. Additional three day study sponsored by The Cervical Research Society.  Attended concurrently 12/1986.
Recent Advances in Spinal Cord Stimulation for Chronic Pain Meeting. Study included hands-on implantation techniques, system programming and post implant patient management.  Attended as three day workshop 5/1991.

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 61st Annual Meeting study in San Francisco, California included Federation of Spine Associations 61st Annual Meeting Specialty Day. Attended 2/1994.
Current Concepts in Spinal Endoscopy study at Annenburg Center in Eisenhower, Rancho Mirage, and California.  Symposium for state-of-the-art technology and surgical techniques designed to provide participants with in-depth introduction to theory and psychomotor skills associated with spinal endoscopy and other minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques. Attended 3/1994.
Spine Across the Sea study held in Maui, Hawaii and sponsored by the North American Spine Society and Wayne State University School of Medicine. This program was combined by the North American Spine Society and the Japanese Spine Society.  Attended 4/1994.
